Al Caviglia and Joe Caviglia, co-founders of the Tank House Winery, chose this name and label as a tribute to their families’ long history in the farming business. The Caviglia family began farming in Santa Clara, California in 1917, and continues to farm to this day. In the year 2007, Al and Joe’s passion for vineyards and winemaking took a foot hold and Tank House Winery was born. The first vintage produced was in 2008 which started with the classic red varietals of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Over the years additional varietals have been added to the production line including Merlot, Petit Verdot, Teroldego, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and several Rosé varietals.
